Cornell Identity

Identity & Cornell

Cornell, like most other major universities, has developed a set of guidelines to which all new Cornell-affiliated websites must adhere. The guidelines simultaneously facilitate and guide the Cornell web visitor’s experience.

Get your templates here!

This unique website provides the templates that Cornell units need to create their own websites that comply with the CU Identity Guidelines. Users can download information, guidelines, and tools (templates) at their convenience, and use them for free. If users want to incorporate podcasts, the site provides podcasting guidelines with sample files so that users will make their podcasts Cornell-identity compliant.

Special Tools

IWS created a variety of templates enabling unit web designers to choose one that appeals to their group and provide a polished, professional looking site. A unique "banner-chooser" tool lets clients choose a variety of banner attributes, including color, whether they want the banner to be 2 or 3 lines deep, whether they want to have a search engine on the top, and the overall size of the banner—all while complying with the Cornell identify guidelines.
